The renowned dancer and choreographer, Slava Samodurov has created a number of famous ballet pieces, with those staged in Moscow and London attracting particular attention from the ballet community.
Situated in one of Russia's oldest opera and ballet houses, this production saw us take the role of set designer, collaborating closely with the choreographer and lighting designer to create a stage almost mechanical in nature. Intended to function like a set of bellows, it produced a unique shadow play between itself and the dancers, appearing almost to control them.
